In the frontier place to Igreja do Loreto, D. Elvira de Vilhena, the Pontevél's countess, ordered to construct a church, being the responsible to the costs of the work. It starts at 4th June 1698 and was inaugurated at 9th September 1708. Planted under the south flank of Portas de Santa Catarina, had been damaged by the earthquake of 1755, and ends its reconstruction during the second half of the XVIII cent with a new planning accord, with the type-models of Pombalino religious architecture. The interior, with a unique saint nave, benefits of a painting in the roof of Pedro Alexandrino; it is sober, but the façade, even though being plane and classicist, it presents rocaille decoration.
