The actual temple, situated in the limitation of the zone, was inaugurated by the maritime of India's carrier in 1542. Here was venerated the image of the virgin that, according to the tradition, was brought from the Orient. The first church was touched by the earthquake and had been reconstructed by the brotherhood, which end opening to the public in 1831. The façade, too simple, opens above a church plaza, like the traditional terriers, and the interior conserve till now some decorative and pictorial nucleons, namely the roof painting and the high altar with the saint patron iconography. |
