Started in 1680, it was amplified in the kingdom of D. João V, during the first half of the XVIII century. Aloft the hill, dominating the old city, it presents the façade with triple portal and access stairway framed of glazed tile panels, with an only saint nave with chapels and sacristy richly decorated with furniture, paintings and glazed-tiles.

Notable figures of our history are buried here, like D. Tomás de Almeida, Manuel da Maia and D. Veríssimo de Lencastre.
