Made between 1868 and 1870, it is arise in the center of Rossio, this monument with 27 meters of height possess a rare elegance. It is composed by an elevated pedestal complex, with four woman figures of academic iconography symbolizing the Justice, the Prudence, the Strength and the Moderation, the attributes of the royal function that were considered.
Above this pedestal, arises a Corinthian solitaire column, in whose top is the monarch figure with the Constitutional Letter in a hand.
