Situated in Portas de Santo Antão, it is one of the scarce circular buildings in Europe, constructed in the second half of the 19th century and destined to the circus, opera, theatre and other shows.
It’s a project of the French Goulard and Baver, constructed in 1888.
One year later, the Lisbon people saw amazed the placement of the great iron cupola, made in Berlin by Hein Lehmann.
