Elevador da Glória Glória's Elevator In Praça dos Restauradores, it is Elevador da Glória, an elevator inaugurated in 1885. It makes the course between Baixa and Bairro Alto. Until 1914 it was moved by vapor; after that date, it started being moved with electric energy. Since the finals of the XIX century, the lights used in the night trips, in the elevator were provided by candles. Elevador da Bica Bica's Elevator Inaugurated in 1892, by Raul Mesnier Ponsard, it was moved by vapor and just in 1914 it changes to the electricity. It takes us from Calhariz to Rua da Boavista.
